A new day has dawn!

The day I got married
I was married to Sandra Kee Moi Liang on 22nd September, 1985. We had organised our wedding dinner at Chooi Wah Restaurant, Klang Town. We didn't even have to put up a great effort in inviting all of our friends. My wife's friends all turned up and so were all my friends. Most of our relatives turned up for our wedding dinner and to witness our happy moments. Our families were all cheerful and gracious in making our wedding a memorable one.

My wife and I, we were both very appreciative towards those who had made an effort to assist us in any way they could in helping out on our wedding preparations. We were so glad when the whole wedding ceremony and dinner went on without a glitch, it was indeed a success.

Our Career
I was with Acmar Group of companies, holding a position of a General Manager and my wife, Sandra was with BBMB, Port Klang ( the later was transferred to Bandar Baru Klang Branch ). She got her promotion to an Officer and was eventually transferred to BBMB, Shah Alam to undertake her responsiblities there.

Children
We were blessed with 3 wonderful kids, Soo Ting(the eldest), Sue Li(2nd) and Wee Gene(3rd). We were a family that many would envy to be in our positions. We use to go for vacation few times a year. It was indeed one 'big' happy family.

Darkest day of my life
My wife, Sandra was diagnose of cancer at the large intestine near the rectum. The situation was pretty bad and it warranted a surgery to remove the tumor, as advised by our doctor, Dr. Lim from Selangor Medical Centre, Shah Alam. We consented and the surgery proceeded as expected and it was a success as far as the operation is concerned. We were advised by Dr. Lim to start chemotherapy as a precaution to ensure all cancerous cells were eradicated or dead. My wife rested for slightly over a month, to ensure a full recovery from surgery. We went SMC to see Dr. Lim as a regular routine checkup. He/Dr. Lim insisted that treatment by chemotherapy  is strongly recommended. We took heed of Dr. Lim advised and proceeded to have the chemotherapy treatment at Tung Shin Hospital, KL; the specialist in-charge was Dr. Lam (as far as I could remember), whom Dr. Lim had mentioned too.

Dr. Lam vetted through her record and suggested she had to undergo 6 cycles of chemo treatment. We dutifully agreed, thinking it was the best option available for my wife. The treatment routine was something like once a week and 4 times a month, equivalent to 1 cycle. After 3 cycles, she went for CT scan and X-ray, the result was astounding, as we were told by Dr.Lam that all cancerous nodules were killed and it was a very positive treatment. We were so happy and almost jumping for joy, thinking that my wife is on the road to recovery. We asked the Doc, wat is the next move? Do we stopped treatment? No, was the reply from Dr. Lam. Without hesitation reiterated to my wife that she has to complete the 6 cycles as originally recommended. Of course we listened to the Doc. The chemotherapy treatment continued........................................until after the 5th cycle and I could notice that Sandra is weakening and some abnormality. We headed straight to see Dr. Lam to seek his explanation, he suggested CT scan and X-ray. The results were so disappointing, Dr. Lam told us that 75% of Sandra's liver is darkened due to cancer cells attacking her liver. I was so furious with Dr. Lam, thinking how could this kind of thing happened all in a sudden. We were so sad and our hearts sank straight into a bottomless pit. We couldn't accept it and decided to seek third opinion from Subang Jaya Medical Centre(SJMC). We went to SJMC to see a cancer specialist  doctor.  He looked at Sandra records from Dr. Lam, Tung Shin, simultaneously we related the whole story of what my wife had gone through. The Doc from SJMC recommended another kind of drug infusion for my wife hoping that it might subdued the cancer cells or kill it. My wife hope of recovery was rather slim, the kind of feeling we were getting from the doc. Nevertheless, Sandra went on with the treatment given by SJMC. Sadly, as days, weeks and months passed by, her condition worsen and it was like she had no hope.

Sandra passed away early 2003.
